My role at the ZERO2FIVE Food Industry Centre
Works closely with staff in the ZERO2FIVE Food Industry Centre at Cardiff Metropolitan University, acting as an advisor in the area of food labelling for SMEs and partners in the Helix project. Regularly runs courses concerning food composition and labelling.
Programme Director for BSc (Hons) Food Science and Technology and MSc Food Technology for Industry
Lectures in food law across a number of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and also lectures in new product development where part of the role is to ensure that products developed by students comply with legal requirements.
Supervises undergraduate and MSc projects concerning a number of areas including impact of labelling legislation on Food Business Operators and consumers, durability indications and front-of-pack labelling, food legislation and farmers' markets, impact of food law on users of village halls and consumer understanding and use of food hygiene ratings and allergen information. Currently supervising two PhD students.
