Cardiff Metropolitan University’s Food Industry Centre appoints a Head of Business and Marketing Consultancy

Cardiff Metropolitan University's Food Industry Centre has appointed Martin Sutherland to the newly created role of Head of Business and Marketing Consultancy. This role will further strengthen the Food Industry Centre by providing commercial and marketing consultancy support for businesses. 

The ZERO2FIVE Food Industry Centre at Cardiff Metropolitan University provides food businesses with technical, operational and commercial support to enable them to compete more effectively. ZERO2FIVE is able to draw on the expertise within Cardiff Metropolitan University which includes internationally recognised experts in Food Science, Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Legislation, Environmental Health, Trading Standards, New Product Development and Biomedical Sciences.

Within the Centre are state-of-the-art facilities which are available for use by businesses. These include a consumer sensory suite, 4 pilot plants, a development kitchen and a consumer research kitchen.

Martin has significant food industry experience in both the supermarket and manufacturing sectors. He has previously been a Director at Somerfield, Bon Bon Buddies and Levercliff Associates and has also had senior marketing roles at Tesco, McVitie's and Pieminister.

Commenting on the recent appointment, David Lloyd, Director of the Food Industry Centre, said:
