COVID-19 Self-Isolation Accommodation

Will international students need to self-isolate when they arrive in the UK?

This will depend on the UK & Welsh Government policy at the time of your planned arrival to the UK. Students from the majority of countries are currently required to self-isolate for 10 days

Will the university provide accommodation if I need to self-isolate on arrival?

The university will be booking accommodation in Cardiff to allow you to safely and conveniently self-isolate for 10 days on arrival to Cardiff. 

Students will be allocated a private studio apartment (single occupancy) which includes: bed with bedding pack, smart TV, study desk and chair, free Wi-Fi, self contained en-suite bathroom with shower, fully equipped kitchen with hob, oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, kettle, kitchenware and crockery. 

Students will receive a basic welcome food pack on arrival (eg, rice, pasta etc, for the first night) and a kitchen pack to use during their stay.

The university will provide this accommodation to students FREE of charge, if you have paid 50% of your course fee in advance.

Students will be able to book their 10 day stay in the accommodation from early January 2021, for the following arrival dates: 

  • Group 1 - Friday 22nd January 2021

  • Group 2 - Saturday 6th February 2021

  • Group 3 - Sunday 21st February 2021

  • Group 4 - Monday 8th March 2021

A booking form will be emailed to you in January 2021. 

Students arriving into Cardiff Airport will receive a free airport transfer to the accommodation. 

Students arriving into London Heathrow Airport should book the free airport transfer service that will be available on the 4 dates listed above.
