The focus of my work in this role is to further develop Cardiff Metropolitan's reputation for making the skills and expertise of the school available to the widest possible range of learners, locally and internationally, across all sectors via bespoke and standard education and training. Our portfolio is based on academic expertise and research and professional body accreditation, offering leading edge consultancy, work-based learning, higher and degree apprenticeships. I am responsible for the school's external engagement, the development of detailed strategies for income generation through innovation in the curriculum, based on the needs of employers across all industry sectors, public and third sector organisations.

I am a UK Board member of the Chartered Association of Business Schools' Small Business Charter Board, a member of the QAA Benchmark Panel for Business and Management, a Fellow of CMI and a Chartered Manager, a trustee of GirlGuiding Cymru, a Vice President of Cardiff Business Club, formerly the HE Ambassador for the Institute of Directors in Wales, the founder of Women in Management in South East Wales (now GRŴP), a former Trustee of the United World College of Southern Africa and director of Seren Publishing. I am currently a member of the Education and Pastoral Committee at the United World College of the Atlantic.

I am an experienced academic leader at school and institutional levels, previously Head of Newport Business School and, Associate Head of the School of Business at University of South Wales. Prior to entering HE in 2009, I gained wide-ranging experience over more than 25 years in industry, performing key education and training, sales and IT senior management roles at UK and European levels for a variety of international IT and financial services companies, most latterly, Oracle.

I currently teach on the Executive MBA programme covering Leadership and Change Management in addition to dissertation and management report supervision. My Professional Doctorate work focuses on the challenges of developing the 'Entrepreneurial University'.
