What to expect in 2020/21

Cardiff Metropolitan University

We have recorded yet another strong year of overall student satisfaction according to the National Student Satisfaction Survey (NSS). Published on 15 July 2020, the NSS results show that 85% of respondents agreed or strongly agreed that they were satisfied with the quality of their course overall putting us at joint third position in Wales.

We want to build on this result and have put a number of measures in place to ensure that whether you are returning to study with us in October or joining us for the first time, you will still enjoy the same high-quality experience whilst maintaining our enhanced levels of safety. Further details of these measures can be found under the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) pages for both Applicants and Continuing students below.

The FAQs provide the most up-to-date information on areas such as dates for the start of term, information around applying for halls of residence as well as the latest information around sports and physical activity participation.

Our estates' team are busy preparing our facilities, providing more hygiene stations, reconfiguring lecture theatres, labs, workshops and social spaces, and enhancing our environment to make the ‘new normal’ work for us all. You can catch-up at a glance on where we are with our plans by checking out our latest Campus Safety infographic.

Our Learning and Teaching Approach for 2020

You can be assured that our plans for the next academic year focus on ensuring the health and wellbeing of our student and staff community and this includes how you will interact to get the very best out of the teaching and learning experience. From October, Cardiff Met will be adopting a flexible learning and teaching approach, meaning you will have greater control over the when and the where of your learning through both on and off-line experiences.
