English Language Requirements

GCSE English Language grade C or above, or equivalent, is a minimum requirement of all Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes with the exception of UTT programmes where grade B is required.  Some of our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes require a higher grade therefore please ensure you check our course pages for specific requirements. Examples of alternative qualifications taken in lieu of the GCSE C grade are:

Pre-Sessional English courses

Cardiff Metropolitan University does offer Pre-Sessional English courses which can enable students to reach the required english language level if their previous IELTS grade isn't sufficient.  Please visit the English Language Training Centre (ELTC) page for further information on requirements, fees and intake dates.
