Eligibility

Undergraduate students who are applying to Cardiff Metropolitan University in September 2019 through clearing from 1st July 2019 to 16th September 2019, have a household income of £30,000 or less and are in a low-participation category, will be considered for the award.

You can check if you live in a low-participation category by using Cardiff Met's Criteria Checker which asks you to enter both your age and postcode.

To be considered, you must be applying to the university as a new Cardiff Metropolitan University student entering a full-time undergraduate course at year one or foundation level starting in 2019.

To allow us to verify your household income, you must be registered with Student Finance as a ‘Means-Tested’ applicant. In addition, you and your financial sponsor(s) (e.g. your parent(s), guardian etc.) must give  ‘Consent to Share’ household income/financial details as part of the Student Finance application. If the above criteria are not met, you will not be considered for the award.

Limited numbers of this award are available and priority will be based on the date/time of course acceptance at Cardiff Metropolitan University during the clearing period. In the event that two or more students being considered for the award have identical times and dates of confirmation, priority will be determined using financial circumstances (those with the lowest household income being prioritised) and tariff point data (highest being prioritised).
