Our free transition event can help prepare you for university life.

We are running 2 events ​this year:

  • Transition to University - Autism Spectrum Conditions

Mental health

11 August 2021, 10:00-13:00, online

Feeling anxious about starting university? Unsure what to expect in your first few weeks of term? 

Sign up to our Transition Event which is aimed at supporting students with Mental Health Conditions to prepare for university life. 

There will an overview of what to expect and the opportunity to meet our Wellbeing, Mental Health Mentoring and Counselling team. 

You will have the opportunity to meet the staff, fellow students and familiarise yourself with campus and ask the important questions you need to before the first week. 

The Wellbeing Service are running the events on each campus.

Autism Spectrum Conditions

25 August 2021, 10:00-13:00, online

Each year Wellbeing Services run an event for our new students with Autism Spectrum Conditions. 

The aim of this event is to: 
  • give you an introduction into university life, the support we provide and the expectations of you 
  • complete key enrolment and admin tasks so you don’t need to worry about this in your first week 
  • Prepare for university halls and independent living 
  • familiarise yourself with the physical and online learning environment
  • meet key members of the Wellbeing Team and plan your support for the academic year  
  • discuss your course with a member of your academic school 

It’s also a great chance to get to know your fellow students, Cardiff city and the support staff at Cardiff Met. 

The event is two days, free to attend and includes an optional overnight stay in halls.
