We have sought to work within the current Welsh Government guidance and have taken feedback from our students to plan and design our teaching for the coming year.

You will largely be taught face to face in non-socially distanced groups of up to 30 students, in interactive sessions designed to provide the most appropriate learning and teaching environments and practices to support our applied curriculum. There will be some exceptions to this – for example, in lab sessions where the use of PPE allows a greater number of students to come together safely. 

We are aware that some international students may be delayed in arriving in Cardiff because of to a lack of flights and a scarcity of rooms in UK Government-approved quarantine accommodation. The UK Government has recognised this and those students starting in September 2021 have until 6 April 2022 to make their way to Cardiff. For these students, Schools are working to ensure that learning materials can be accessed through on-line delivery.

Yes you can, we are still accepting applications in the normal way, either via UCAS, UTT or direct depending on the course you are applying for.

Cardiff Met considers work experience as well as qualifications and considers each application on an individual basis. We also have a number of foundation courses for those applicants who need an extra year of study to fulfil their potential.

Students in Wales are receiving their provisional results in June. These are provisional results with official results being issued on 10 August. Universities cannot confirm places based on provisional results as these may change dependant on if an appeal is made.

If your provisional results are lower than what you anticipated you can appeal these with your school. We recommend that you contact our Admissions Team once you receive your official results on the 10 August if your place is not already confirmed with UCAS.

If your results aren’t what you expected, please don’t worry as there are many options open to you. Cardiff Met will be operating an Advice Line from 8:30 am on Tuesday 10 August and will be encouraging anyone with any queries to contact us via, 029 2041 6014, askadmissions@cardiffmet.ac.uk or contact us using the Live Chat.

We can normally accept a Statement of Results (SoR) if it has been signed and stamped by your school/college. We understand that this may not be possible at present, therefore we will accept a SoR without the usual verification. For programmes with certain professional requirements, we will require further verification when schools/colleges re-open (signature/stamp; confirmation letter on headed paper; email from institution) We will be in touch with you before the start of your programme to let you know if we need any further verification.

The wellbeing and safety of our students has been our top priority throughout the pandemic and remains at the forefront of our preparations for welcoming new and returning students to our campuses for the new academic year. We recognise the challenges facing international students who reside in red or amber list countries and the complications around travel and quarantine requirements which is why we are pleased that our commitment to flexible learning, including the continued delivery of interactive digital learning, will enable our international students to start their studies with us before joining us in person on campus. Support will also be provided to students throughout their stay in a managed quarantine facility (MQF) and Cardiff Met is committed to facilitating transport for students from their MQF to their new home in Cardiff following their quarantine, where staff will be on hand to help them get settled into student life. Students are encouraged to regularly check the UK Government website for updated information on red, amber and green list countries and travel guidance.
