Staff Profile Overview

​Mike is a Senior Lecturer in Data Science at Cardiff School of Technologies. He completed his PhD degree in Computer Science at Brunel University London, UK, in 2017. He is a highly motivated, result-oriented Professional with over twelve (12) years of collective work experience in Industry and academia. In this time, he has focused on Data Science, Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), Data-driven Big Data Strategy, Cybersecurity, Business Intelligence, consultancy, and academic research. Prior to joining Cardiff Metropolitan University, he was a Data Science and Cyber Analytics Researcher on the "Chatty Factories Project" at Cardiff University’s School of Computer Science & Informatics. He was part of the Security, Privacy and Human Factors Research group. “Chatty Factories” is a £1.5m project focused on revolutionizing the UK manufacturing industry by leveraging the Internet of things (IoT) / sensor technology and Artificial intelligence (AI) to create a system which allows products “talk” securely and directly to the factory floor thus allowing the possibility of harnessing product use data in real-time. Mike is certified in Azure AI Fundamentals, SAP ABAP and SAS Base 9.
