Biography
Neil studied sonic art in the early ’80s for his BA and exhibited at the New Contemporaries Exhibition in ’84, gaining an MA in 1991. A lifelong musician, he has played with numerous bands, principally The Heavy Quartet which finally called it a day after 36 years and sixteen albums in 2019. He has also worked as a sound and lighting engineer, finishing with a ten year residency at Clwb Ifor Bach in Cardiff till 2000. Neil started work as a Audio Visual Technician in 1990 and has been a fixture in CSAD ever since. His own practice is currently with multi-monitor video installations.
Principal Publications and/or Exhibitions
“Sonic Drawing” performed at Tactile Bosch Studios 13/11/2010. The recording was shown for the rest of the “Tenure” Exhibition until Jan 2011.
