About the programme

Participating on the Challenges Abroad - Cambodia programme you will be challenged to step out of your comfort zone and think creatively as you spend four weeks working on projects supporting the work of Challenges Abroad's partner charity - The Futuresense Foundation.

You will be contributing to projects in a partner schools in rural village to deliver a range of workshops that allow children to learn in a hands-on manner to inspire them to enjoy going to school. The projects you get involved with will be centered around your course and skill set. You could be working on projects related to STEM, environment, health and more.

It's not all hard work and no play! You'll have plenty of free time to explore the Battambang and ride the bamboo train! You will also have the opportunity to visit Siem Reap and neighbouring towns and cities during your weekends.

 

Dates

The trip will take place in June 2022 travel permitting under Covid, Cardiff Met and UK government guidelines.  Date to be confirmed.

Who is eligible to apply?

Full time students from any Cardiff Met school
Priority will be given to students form a widening participation background


Cost

The cost of this trip will be approximately £1595 plus flights

Students will be required to pay an amount towards the trip however we aim to keep these costs as low as possible. Actual costs to be calculated once student applications have been reviewed and confirmed.

Following acceptance onto the programme, to secure your place on the challenge, you will need to pay a £390 registration fee. The remaining balance of £1205 can be paid in instalments up to 6 weeks prior to departure.
