Athlete Profile

My sporting background in shooting stemmed from being a cadet in the ATC three years ago which lead me to being a part of Wales's high performance shooting development program today.

I aspire to be the best in my sport and in doing so look to compete and medal at the Commonwealth Games as well as the World Cup, and in the future look to be Olympic ready.

Some achievements so far are:

  • 2015 Junior Welsh 50m Champion
  • 2016 Junior International 10m air rifle - bronze.
  • First Senior Cap for Wales at the Home Counties Match 2016
  • Made the Final in my first Commonwealth Shooting Federation European Division (CSFED) match.

What difference has the scholarship made?

The sporting scholarship at Cardiff Met has helped me in a number of ways. Having chosen a campus allowance, it has allowed me to purchase not only a bus pass which aids me get to training but also an allowance to spend in the library, the canteen and the onsite catering outlets. Being able to use my card at the library for things like printing and the canteen for a quick grab to eat or drink has been a great help, especially between lectures.

Having access to the onsite gym and Sport Massage practitioners has probably had the most effect on my sport in not only my training, but in competitions. In a sport where equipment, ammunition and competitions  are expensive, the scholarship aiding me financially has made a massive effect and has really been a blessing.
