Who can use the Met Active facilities at this time?
Met Active is open to Members and Non-Members.
That Includes Students, Staff and the local community.
I’m an external member, what should I do?
Download the Cardiff Met Sport App - Hit 'Join Us', Enter your details, then you can either decide to sign up to one of our memberships or join as a 'Pay as You go' member where you can pay to use our services and facilities.
What do I have to do before using the gym?
To use the gym or attend a class you are required to book in for a slot using the Cardiff Met Sport app, which is free to download on app store or play store, or online. Each session lasts for 50 minutes. You can book a class or gym session up to seven days in advance.
What should I do on the day I attend?
When moving around the campus you are required to wear a mask. In line with current guidelines in Wales masks must be worn at all times apart from when performing strenuous exercise. This includes when entering and exiting the building or when moving around rooms. If you experience any Covid-19 symptoms, are waiting on a Covid-19 test result or have come into contact with anyone who has Covid-19 please do not use the facilities.

What other changes should I be aware of before attending?
We have also adapted the layout of the gym to comply with social distancing rules. Please pay attention to signage, follow the one-way systems in place and wear a mask when moving around the facility.
What If I cannot attend a booking?
To allow us to open our facility to as many people as possible if you are unable to make your booking please let us know in advance. We ask that you give us 24 hours notice when cancelling a booking to allow time for someone else to take your slot. Where this notice is not given, a missed booking fee will be applied to your account.
What if I miss my slot as I have Covid-19 symptoms or come into contact with someone who has Covid-19?
If you have booked but are unable to attend the gym for reasons relating to Covid-19 then the missed booking policy and fee will not apply. If this is the case please let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or by phoning 029 2041 6743 (Cyncoed)/029 2041 6779 (Llandaff).
What should I do when I arrive at the gym?
Please enter the Met Active facilities as normal ensuring that you are wearing a face mask, then check in at the reception desk. Please check upon booking, as to what is required prior to booking depending on what alert level we are currently at in Wales
What should I do when leaving the gym?
Please leave promptly when your time slot has expired. To protect the safety of our gym users we have 10-minute cleaning windows between bookings which can only take place once the facility has been emptied. Your compliance in leaving on time will help ensure the safety of all gym users.
