​There are a number of opportunities for staff and student engagement with sustainability initiatives within Cardiff Met.

For Students and Staff

  • Join in weekly Litter Picks from each Campus check on News and Events.
  • Book your Bike in for a Free Service (part of Repair Cafe Wales) check on News and Events.
  • Learn sustainable skills at our free monthly Green Workshops for staff and students - check on News and Events.
  • Love Hedgehogs? Help us in our aim to become a Hedgehog Friendly Campus!
  • Funding is available for staff or student led sustainability themed initiatives each academic year, contact Sustainability@cardiffmet.ac.uk​​
  • Join in with Go Green Week events, tips and ideas
  • Believe in Fairtrade? You could join our Fairtrade Steering Group!
  • Follow us on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram to keep informed on the sustainability work and events at the University!
  • Get involved with the monthly Community Days and Repair Café’s - check on News and Events page.
  • Do you have a great idea for how to improve the sustainability of Cardiff Met or how to communicate our work to other students or staff? Send us your ideas or even get involved in the annual consultation process for our sustainability policies and strategies. See the Consultation Page for more information.
  • Get involved in the campaign for collection of Single-Use Coffee Cups on Campus, contact Sustainability@cardiffmet.ac.uk.
  • Volunteer with Cardiff Met Community Garden project at Llandaff Campus, contact: Community Garden, gardening@cardiffmet.ac.uk.

  • Cardiff Met are a Litter Pick Hub for Keep Wales Tidy - you can loan Litter Picking equipment from Campus and return after your event contact Sustainability@cardiffmet.ac.uk
  • Volunteer with Earth Hour Plans in October / November

For Students

For Staff

  • Staff engagement opportunities are available within awareness campaigns and initiatives. Get involved or even volunteer for Go Green Week activities with students.
  • Volunteer to become a trained Environmental Auditor of our Environmental Management System, working in teams with students.
  • Represent your School or Unit alongside Aspect Owners in our termly Sustainability Committee meetings.
