Specialist Subject Areas

Peter's specialist areas are in the spatial communication of the built environment and Building Information Modelling (BIM). His research is actively involved with the use of spatial data collection using laser-scanning and other remote sensing methods. He is involved with the teaching of CAD and BIM within the Architectural Design and Technology BSc and also contributes to tuition on the BA Architecture.

Biography

Peter started off his career as a graduate site engineer before moving into working with digital technologies within the Built Environment. He has a deep interest in the way the built environment is visually communicated throughout a project's life-cycle. In 2020 he completed a master's degree in Building Information Modelling for Smart Engineering from Cardiff School of Engineering where he focused on the use of LiDAR for retrofitting residential buildings. Within CSAD he is a part of Sustainable and Resilient Built Environment research group where he is continuing his research into this subject area.

Peter is a keen surfer and can often be found off the coast of Pembrokeshire. He is also a keen photographer and loves to travel with his camera.
