Specialist Subject Areas

Charlie is particularly interested in the creative application of CAD software, encouraging students to experiment with different approaches to the creation, development and presentation of their designs, combining manual and digital techniques resulting in individual and unique projects and styles.

She has a hands-on role within the course, based in the studio day to day, providing tutorials and support in IT, CAD & VBIM (Virtual building information modelling) as well as manual drafting, rendering and design advice.

Returning to the job after three years working in a different area of the school, she is keen to expand her expertise in rapid prototyping and environmental studies.

Charlie left university as a near-technophobe, and hopes that none of her students do the same, therefore she aspires to make the technology that her graduates are likely to experience in the workplace accessible and interesting to all.

Qualifications

BSc (Hons) Architectural Studies (plus certifications in various CAD & design software applications)
