Profile

I joined Cardiff Metropolitan University in July 2019 and teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I am a subject tutor on the PGCE Secondary English course, TeachFirst Secondary English program and in 2019-20, I supported Secondary English GTP trainees in their FastTrack placements. I also teach at undergraduate level on the BA Primary Education with QTS course and within the Humanities department. I supervise undergraduate and postgraduate dissertation students, encompassing a range of research topics. Before starting at Cardiff Met, I worked in Secondary English education for 13 years with 5 years as the PGCE English school subject mentor and a further 2 years as an NQT External Verifier and NQT ASPIRE course Leader. I had the pleasure and privilege of supporting a number of our talented, young pupils as they participated in various National competitions, including the English Speaking Union Public speaking competition and the National Young Writers (poetry and short story) competition.
