Profile

Thy Nguyen has a background in Educational Psychology (BSc and MA). She got MSc in Psychological Research and PhD in Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience at Bangor University, UK. She also had been trained in the field of school psychology with the National Association of School Psychologists (United States). Thy has over five years of practical counselling experience in both private clinics and educational settings in Vietnam.

Her research emphasises the development of self-regulation and translation of cognitive neuroscience into emotion and well-being in educational settings. Thy is highly interested in using event-related potential(s) (ERPs) to understand better the neural cognitive mechanism underlying such trajectories in relation to school-based programmes that work as universal interventions to promote attention control, emotion regulation, and well-being. She is also enthusiastic about exploring the development of emotion regulation and the effects of interventions on such ability from a cross-cultural perspective.
