Staff Overview

​​Alexia dreams of co-creating a School for Young Leaders – an experiential talent incubator of Active Global Citizens who care.

She has founded the HEART-led™ Leadership model, a training framework for Generation Z leaders, which is currently being further developed and tested.

Prior to being with Cardiff Metropolitan University, and for the past 15 years, Alexia was an Assistant Professor in Management and Leadership at the Hellenic Mediterranean University and adjunct faculty member at the Hellenic Open University in Greece. She holds a Doctorate in Knowledge Management, is an Accredited Mediator and a Certified NLP Coach. Her teaching and research interests include digital age leadership and soft skills development.

She also has substantial corporate experience (13+ years), having held managerial posts as Marketing and Communications Manager for a diverse range of companies both in the UK and in Greece, including Wickes Building Supplies and National Britannia. Her budget responsibility has been in excess of £500K.

Alexia has in the past successfully set up her own businesses: a business development consultancy and a coaching company. She is author of five academic books focusing on management and marketing. Her latest book is ‘Live Your Truth and Lead’, part of which she taught as a workshop to postgraduate students at Amrita University, Kerala, India.

Other Projects and activities

​​‘Workers of the future: Is aligning a self-led life to work purpose the solution to worker engagement?’ is the title of her presentation at the 83rd Academy of Management Annual Meeting in Boston, US, the world’s largest annual gathering of management scholars in the world (August 2023).

Currently, developing and testing a multilateral ‘Mindfulness-Physical Activity in Nature’ intervention that increases leadership effectiveness. (Research Team Lead).
