Glamorgan clinched their second Metro Bank One Day Cup in four years, with a notable contribution from Cardiff Met’s cricketing talent, showcasing the University’s UCCE (University Centres of Cricketing Excellence) program.
Ben Kellaway, a UCCE scheme player, featured in the final, while his UCCE teammates and Cardiff Met students Ben Morris and Asa Tribe, and incoming UCCE player Henry Hurle made significant contributions during the group stages and semi-final.
The final also saw a number of former Cardiff Met UCCE players shine, with Kiran Carlson, Tom Bevan, Will Smale, Andy Gorvin, and Dan Douthwaite all playing key roles in Glamorgan’s victorious campaign.
This success further highlights Cardiff Met’s vital role in developing future cricketing stars.
