News | 18 October 2022

Having been ranked as the top university in Wales for graduate employability earlier this year, Cardiff Met has now been ranked the 16th best university in the UK from a total of 143 universities for graduate employability.

The University is among the 20 best UK universities for job prospects - 2nd in Wales after Cardiff University. This is according to StudentCrowd, which creates UK league tables based on verified student reviews. StudentCrowd’s latest employability league table is based on 15,871 student reviews submitted between June to May 2022 across 10 different areas of student life.

StudentCrowd describes Cardiff Met as follows: “With fantastic links to well-regarded companies and a dedicated careers service, Cardiff Metropolitan University has managed to attain an almost 95% employment or further education status for its graduates. High praise is attributed by students to the careers network, which is staffed by people who want to see students succeed and released into spaces where they fulfil their potential.”

Earlier this year, Cardiff Met was ranked as the top university in Wales for employability by Graduate Outcomes 19/20 with 95.6% of its graduates in work or further study 15 months after leaving the university. This figure is up 2.3% from last year, despite a challenging year for the economy.

President and Vice-Chancellor of Cardiff Met, Professor Cara Aitchison, said: “Cardiff Met is very much a career-focused university and offers a huge range of support from enrolment to graduation and beyond.

"Our students benefit from high quality courses with strong partnerships with both professions and industries and a first-rate careers service – all of which create the perfect mix for personal- and career-based development.

“I wish to acknowledge and congratulate the staff who have work tirelessly to create such a strong success story in this critical area.”
