A message from Vice-Chancellor Professor Cara Aitchison
On behalf of all staff and students of Cardiff Metropolitan University, both here in Cardiff and around the world, I wish to join with the rest of the country in expressing my deepest sorrow at the news of the death of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
Her Majesty reigned for longer than any other monarch in British history and she is respected across the globe for her dignity and sense of duty.
Queen Elizabeth served her country with enormous devotion and, as the figurehead for the UK and the Commonwealth during times of huge social change, she remained steadfast in the delivery of her Royal duties throughout her 70-year reign.
Our deepest condolences are extended to the Royal family at this sad time.
