Is there a closing date for applying for the Award?

Yes, the closing date for applications is 30th June 2023. You also need to have been offered a place and be enrolled at Cardiff Met to receive the award. Applications will be assessed in August.

I am already studying at Cardiff Met. Can I apply for the Award?

Yes, any students who meet the eligibility criteria may apply.

I am not sure if I meet the eligibility criteria in relation to my sport?

Any questions you may have in relation to eligibility or the award itself can be e-mailed to Ollie Toogood on OToogood@cardiffmet.ac.uk.

I won't be studying within the School of Sport & Health Sciences. Can I apply for the Award?

Applications are welcome from all applicants who meet the eligibility criteria and are studying within any of Cardiff Met's Academic Schools.

How does my coach make a recommendation in order to meet the criteria?

During the application, please supply your coaches' details. Your reference may be contacted as part of the application process.

How do I demonstrate my level of sport?

We can clarify your level of sport through consultation with your coach and your governing body.

When will I be contacted in relation to receiving the Award?

After you apply for the award, you will receive an automatic e-mail confirming we have received your application. Following application, shortlisted applicants will be requested to have a short informal interview to discuss their application with the Head of Sport System or nominated other member of staff. Then, following the interview/shortlist stage, application assessments will be undertaken during the month of August by the Sport Scholarship Panel based on the application and feedback from the interview. You will be notified if you are eligible to receive the award (subject to meeting the terms and conditions) prior to the starting date of your course. Once the terms and conditions have been met you will then be sent confirmation including information on how to use arrange payment of award. If you have any queries you can contact Ollie Toogood on OToogood@cardiffmet.ac.uk.
