Public sector management and strategic planning research significantly impacted Welsh Government sport policy. The Free Swimming Initiative and Active Young People Programme evaluations resulted in revised schemes, diversion of funds to the
£5.4m Healthy and Active Fund, and developments in the
Healthy Weight, Healthy Wales National Strategy. The Calls for Action evaluation employed Theory of Change for the first time in such programmes - influencing future programme development and assessment such as the 60+ Active Leisure Scheme and Sport Resilience Fund.
