Innovation in Gluten-free food products

The Food Industry Centre (FIC) has been at the forefront of gluten-free (GF) product innovation and reformulation, and food safety standards. FIC knowledge transfer activities resulted in 10 SMEs achieving a £19.6 million turnover, 30 food quality awards, and 23 accrediting body food safety standard certifications. Through innovative ingredient and processing solutions, three SMEs brought 47 new GF products to market, providing healthier, safer, more diversified product ranges and improved product quality for individuals with coeliac disease and cereal allergies.
