PGCE Teacher Training
If you are considering making an application for our Primary PGCE or Secondary PGCE course, it’s worth planning ahead and considering important dates and processes as many of our PGCE courses become full very quickly. You will also need to make sure you have done everything expected of you to ensure that you secure your place.
If you are a graduate working in a Secondary school but currently do not hold a Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), the PGCE Route to Qualified Teacher Status for School Based Employees will enable you to gain QTS while continuing to teach in your own school. You will have a minimum of 3 years of sustained teaching responsibility to enable you to build on your current experience.
If you are a graduate interested in teaching within a Post-Compulsory education setting – such as Further Education, Higher Education, Adult and Community Learning, HM Forces training, or prison education – our PGCE/PCE in Post-Compulsory Education and Training could be the ideal programme for you.
To help make your life a little easier, we have split this section of our website to help you identify the main things that you need to do both before and after you make your PGCE application through the UCAS Undergraduate system.
