Staff Overview

​Jason is a Senior Fellow of the HEA and has taught in Sport Science and Computing related modules for over 20 years. The focus of his teaching in Sport Science was Performance Analysis and the use of Computing in sport. He has mainly taught modules focused on programming, databases and mobile Computing. He has lead on the development of numerous programmes at both UG and PG and Apprenticeship Degrees. He has supervised completed PhDs within both within Computer and Sport Science. He has a keen interest in Internationalisation, and developed International programmes with partners across Europe.

Teaching

​His main research interests have been in the Analysis of Performance within sport and the use of computing to enhance performance and coaching. His PhD focused on rule changes within sport, with specific reference to rugby union. He has published numerous papers in journals, books and conferences and is a member of the editorial board on number of journals. He is one of the founding members of the International Society for Performance Analysis of Sport (ISPAS). He has also published papers on Internationalisation in Higher Education and has a keen interest in embedding on developing curriculum around Internationisation.
