Students are required to obtain adequate health insurance to cover themselves during their time on one of the International Short Courses at Cardiff Metropolitan University. Students recognise and accept that the International Short Courses fee does not go towards payment of such insurance and that the University has no obligation to provide such insurance.
Students are expected to conduct themselves in a professional manner and to recognise that other students also require support and assistance. If a student is constantly disruptive, Cardiff Metropolitan University reserve the right to offer a verbal or written warning and, if this does not resolve the situation, we may, at our discretion, ask the student to leave the International Short Courses programme. Students understand that if they have legal problems while in the UK, they will attend to the matter personally and with their own finances. They accept that Cardiff Metropolitan University cannot provide any personal or financial assistance.
Cardiff Metropolitan University is not liable for any failure or delay in the performance, in whole or part, of any of our obligations arising from or attributable to acts, events, omissions or accidents beyond our reasonable control, including - but not limited to - strikes, lock-outs or other industrial disputes (whether involving our workforce or the workforce of any other party), act of God, war, riot, civil commotion, malicious damage, compliance with any law or governmental order, rule, regulation or direction, accident, breakdown of plant or machinery, fire, flood, storm, pandemics, epidemics or other outbreaks of disease or infection, failure in the public supply of electricity, heating, lighting, air conditioning or telecommunications equipment.
Cardiff Metropolitan University reserves the right to withdraw any advertised International Short Courses programme, for which the recruited number of students is so low that it is not possible to deliver an appropriate quality of education. In this instance full fees will be refunded. A visa support letter will be issued upon receipt of full payment, where projected number of student applications indicate that the programme will be running.
The International Short Courses programmes are offered at Cardiff Metropolitan University by the academic Schools and the International and Partnerships Office. Every care has been taken to ensure accuracy. While every endeavour will be made to provide the programmes and services described, Cardiff Metropolitan University reserves the right to make changes as appropriate for reasons of operational efficiency or due to circumstances, including industrial action, beyond its control.
