Architecture

Content Editor

Architecture shapes our world. It reflects our societies and communities and has the power to influence the way we think and feel.

Architecture degrees at Cardiff Met will prepare you to build a better future, with a strong emphasis on sustainability and opportunities to connect with industry.

Take your first step towards becoming a registered architect with our BA (Hons) Architecture, an ARB prescribed Part 1 qualification, or develop a deep technical understanding of how buildings work with our dual-accredited BSc (Hons) Architectural Design & Technology degree.

Whichever route you chose, you will learn from highly experienced industry professionals within the context of a school of art and design, benefitting from an interdisciplinary curriculum that will broaden your horizons and enhance your critical thinking skills.

You will develop an in-depth practical and theoretical understanding of your chosen discipline, employing industry standard technology to arrive at innovative, human-centred design solutions.

Both BA (Hons) Architecture and BSc (Hons) Architectural Design & Technology achieved 100% overall satisfaction in the latest National Student Survey (NSS 2023).

“There are plenty of opportunities to work collaboratively with other disciplines within the Cardiff School of Art & Design. I find this really useful as it gives an insight into what life in industry would be like. On top of this, you can actually go out into real workplaces through a 4-week placement module, or like me, you can take the sandwich year placement option and gain valuable experience. I worked with an architectural practice in Malta, which was a fantastic opportunity.”
