Marine & Wildlife Conservation

With the help of Travelteer's numerous hands-on projects, you will be fully immersed in environmental conservation, whether it be assisting with the restoration of sea turtle numbers, replanting indigenous trees, or combating plastic pollution. Travelteer have developed a long-term strategy to regenerate important areas of rainforest and maintain the marine life in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka.


English Development

The programme works closely with Sri Lankan schools to develop long-lasting projects that, through teaching and classroom renovations, offer children in the neighbourhood better futures.

 

Sports Development

The programme gives practical experience so you can design and carry out your own sporting events in underdeveloped nations alongside the Sri Lankan Government. Through the coaching of sports, Travelteer's projects put an emphasis on inclusivity and skill development to promote health and wellbeing.

 

Mental Health

You will shadow practitioners in the Western and Ayurvedic fields, providing insight into the various forms of mental health therapy practised in Sri Lankan communities, this allows you the chance to hone your skills while learning about Sri Lanka's vibrant culture and lush landscapes through mentoring from local experts.

 

Medical Electives

The Healthcare Placements have been developed in partnership with both government and private hospitals as well as local healthcare practitioners in Sri Lanka to provide ethical work experience for medical students. The programme will provide you with direct access to Sri Lanka's healthcare system, providing a real insight into one of the busiest and important environments in the world.

 

Textiles & Design

The programme works in partnership with local Sri Lankan charities. These charities run community-based projects in Sri Lanka that act as training and education centres for local women. To sustain these projects, Travelteer sell their brand 'Palm Project' to local boutique hotels and shops. All products are produced by the local women giving them paid work. All money made from the project is invested into the community.
