Students who have the following qualifications may be considered for direct entry onto relevant schemes at Cardiff Metropolitan University.

Foundation Courses

Applicants with the East African Certificate of Education (EACE)/ Certificate of Secondary Education (CSE) with an average grade C or above.

Those who have the same qualification however English is an IELTS 4.5 can be considered for entry to the International Foundation course

Undergraduate Courses

Applicants with East African Advanced Certificate of Education (EAACE)/Advanced Certificate of Secondary Education (ACSE)

Applicants who have followed the A-Level or IB Diploma curriculum can apply for direct undergraduate entry – the normal UCAS tariff will be applied

Applicants who hold a 2/3 year Polytechnic Diploma/ Advanced Diploma, which is equivalent to either HNC/HND standard will be considered on case by case basis for 2nd or 3rd year entry

Postgraduate Courses

Students with a Bachelor degree from a recognised institution in Tanzania with equivalent to 2:2 Second Lower class Or masters degree will be considered for masters programme entry Applicants with a Masters degree will be considered for entry to Ph.D. studies

English Language Requirements

Proficiency in English is essential for undergraduate study. If applicant's first language is not English we would expect the applicant to have one of the following English language qualifications:

CSE/EACE English grade C or above

GCSE/O-Level English grade C or above

IELTS 4.5 (4.0 in each area) is required for International Foundation course

IELTS score of 6.0 (5.5 in each area) is required for Undergraduate Courses (inc Year 0)*

IELTS score of 6.5 (5.5 in each area) is required for Postgraduate Courses*

*Some courses may require a higher grade in English or IELTS
