Dr Keith Glanfield, Senior Lecturer at Cardiff School of Management, received the award in recognition of his longstanding work with BAM and his pivotal role in shaping the direction, growth and impact of its Marketing and Retail Special Interest Group (SIG) and for the numerous projects and initiatives Keith has led, especially The Marketing Trust Impact Research Grant Scheme.

Under Keith’s leadership, the group has developed into a vibrant and inclusive academic community, encouraging collaboration and engagement between researchers at different stages of their careers.

BAM President, Professor Kay Mason and Chair, Professor Emma Parry highlighted Keith’s contribution, saying:

“Under Dr Glanfield’s leadership, the SIG has continued to flourish as a vibrant and inclusive scholarly community, fostering engagement, collaboration and intellectual exchange among members across career stages.”

They also recognised Keith’s role in establishing the joint BAM and Marketing Trust Marketing Impact Research Grant. The initiative aims to strengthen connections between academic research and professional marketing practice, supporting research with the potential to make a tangible difference outside academia.

Keith said:

“I’m delighted and genuinely honoured to receive this recognition from the British Academy of Management. For me, the most rewarding part of this work has been bringing people together and creating opportunities for academic research to make a difference beyond the university environment.

“The Marketing Trust Impact Research Grant is a great example of what can be achieved when academia and industry work together. I’m very proud of what we have developed and look forward to continuing to strengthen the relationship between BAM and the Marketing Trust, helping research to have a positive, real-world impact on marketing and retail practice.”

BAM described the establishment of the grant as one of Keith’s most significant contributions, recognising its role in strengthening the link between research and real-world marketing practice and the lasting impact it will have on the academic community.
