We’re so excited to welcome you to Cardiff Met and want you to make the most of the day when you’re with us. Our Open Days are the perfect chance for you to find out more about what it’s like to study with us.

What to Expect

This page will aim to give you a taste of what to expect when you visit, along with some tips, but we’ll also be in touch via email once you’ve booked your place with more specifics of what will happen on your Open Day, as well as guides on how to book yourself onto talks and sessions.

Which Campus?

Our Open Days run across both of our Llandaff and Cyncoed campuses on the same day but don’t worry, we’ll get you to the right place! Our booking form will direct you based on your course interests, but you can also check our course pages before you book to make sure you know which campus to attend. (We’ll also send you all the relevant details by email!).

Course & School Talks

This is your opportunity to find out more about your course interests. Meet course tutors, ask questions and get a feel for what you want to study. We typically run course talks, meet the academic sessions and school welcome talks in both the morning and afternoon so you have the chance to find out about more than just one course.

Our Information Fair is where you can learn more about the support and services available. Running at both the Llandaff and Cyncoed campuses, you can chat to staff from Admissions, Money Advice, Wellbeing Support, Careers, Sport, Welsh Language and the Cardiff Met Students’ Union.

Chat with our accommodation team at the Information Fair to find out about our range of accommodation options across Cardiff and see which option suits your preferences. You can also take a tour of a variety of accommodation options which can be booked on arrival at the Open Day.

Personal Statement Reviews

Get feedback on your personal statement from our Application Support Team. Simply bring a copy with you on the day and our team can help you identify strengths, suggest improvements, and help you make the most of your university application.

General Talks

We’ll be offering a variety of talks throughout the day across both campuses. These talks may include advice of writing a personal statement, accommodation, student finance and a variety of performance sport talks. We’ll let you know how to book onto these by email once you have registered for the day.

Campus Tours

Take a tour of campuses with our friendly student ambassadors. Running throughout the day across both campuses you will tour the general facilities available across campus – from library and learning centres to on-site eateries and social spaces.

Top Tips

Here are our top tips to get the most from your Open Day:

Plan ahead: Choose the talks, tours and activities most important to you.
Check in at a registration point and get an overview of what’s on: Our friendly staff can answer your questions or provide directions. Don’t forget to pick up a free Welsh cake!
Attend a course talk to learn more about the degree you’re interested in and chat with academics.
Take a student-led campus tour to see all the best spots.
Visit the Information Fair to chat with staff from across the University about the support and services available to you as a Cardiff Met student.
Ask questions: No question is too small – our staff and ambassadors are here to help.
