Looking after yourself and having access to GP/NHS support when you come to university is important. We’ve included some key information below to help you stay well, including the steps you need to take to have access to care and treatment should or when the need arises.
It is important to register with a local GP before or as soon as you arrive in Cardiff. You will need to have a Cardiff address to register with a GP in that area.
What support is available?
All students at Cardiff Met have access to free and confidential advice and support from Student Services for the following conditions:
- disabilities
- medical conditions
- neurodiverse conditions – dyslexia, other SpLDs, ADHD
- autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASCs)
- mental health conditions
- wellbeing support

In the first instance please disclose any additional support needs to the Global Engagement Student Advisory Service (intstudentadvice@cardiffmet.ac.uk) as early as possible in the application process. The Wellbeing Service will then contact you to discuss any support needs you may have.
