School Sport Initiatives

Cardiff Met Sport has established strong links with primary and secondary schools in Cardiff and welcome many of these schools and others from outside the area for their school sports day.

Additionally, we provide local schools with their school swimming programme and offer all secondary schools the opportunity to supplement their ‘A Level’ and ‘GCSE’ Sport and PE courses with a view to giving practical experience of both field and lab based fitness testing.

School Sports Days

Have you chosen a date but are concerned about the weather? Do you have all the equipment you need to make sure it runs smoothly? Well, maybe we can help. The National Indoor Athletics Centre is an ideal venue with a 4 lane 200m track, sprint straight, throwing areas and competition areas for all the jumps, and to make it really professional we have an excellent PA system. We offer either a morning session 9am-12midday or an afternoon session 12.30pm-3.30pm.  We can also accomodate a full day booking.

School Fetes

A great time to visit schools and promote not only our term time courses, but also our very popular Dragon Camps Easter and Summer Sports Activity Programmes. We would be delighted to be part of your annual, end of term sports day or fete and if we attend we would bring with us a prize for your raffle and discount vouchers to encourage children to remain active during their holidays.

School Assembly Visits

Ours Sports Development Team are always keen to visit children and present some of the courses on offer at Cardiff Met. Many children previously or currently attending Cardiff Met's junior courses and clubs recognise our coaches during this time. This serves to build up our growing reputation and to meet the children in their schools is always an enjoyable experience.

Outreach Work

Cardiff Met Sports Facilties have attained sponsorship to support our expanding junior programmes. This has enabled us to expand the opportunity for children to experience some of our courses by providing coaches to take a lesson or use a break time slot to promote some of our sport courses including athletics, cricket, dance, gymnastics, netball, rugby, football and squash. Schools can arrange an outreach visit during term times throughout the year.

If you would like to take part in any of the above or would like any further information then please contact Donna Cadenne, Bookings Administrator on 029 20416738 or email
