Professor Leigh Robinson

Professor Leigh Robinson is a Professor of Sport Management and the Pro-Vice Chancellor (Cyncoed Campus) and Dean of the School of Sport and Health Sciences. Leigh will be responsible for developing the Cyncoed Campus to deliver the University's strategic vision for high quality academic provision in Sport & Health Sciences and an outstanding offer in elite and recreational sport for the University and its stakeholder communities.  She has a global reputation for her research and knowledge exchange in the development of competitive advantage and capacity building in developing sport nations. She has worked with a range of organisations, such as the International Olympic Committee, the British Olympic Association, Trinidad and Tobago Olympic Committee and the Malaysian Government.

She has published extensively in peer-reviewed journals and book chapters and has spoken on the topic at numerous national and international conferences. Leigh is Senior Editor of the Journal of Global Sport Management and is on the editorial board of European Sport Management Quarterly, Managing Sport and Leisure and Sport Management Review. Leigh is a member of the Board of sportscotland and an advisor to Olympic Solidarity, the education commission of the Olympic Committee.

Before joining Cardiff Metropolitan University, she worked at Stirling University in Scotland where she held posts as the Head of the School of Sport and Dean of Internationalisation. Before moving to Stirling in 2010 Leigh was a Senior Lecturer at the University of Loughborough and previously at the University of Sheffield.
