My role at the ZERO2FIVE Food Industry Centre

My role is to help bakery businesses, from start-ups to industry, with all aspects of their business.

This can be through:

  • Product development support and recipe formulations
  • Sourcing new ingredients
  • Training programmes
  • Equipment upscaling
  • Production planning
  • Product presentations
By linking up with our technical and commercial teams within our ZERO2FIVE Food Industry Centre, we help bakery businesses to become established and grow.

Our state-of-the-art facilities at our centre include a bakery, a new product development kitchen as well as confectionary and sensory analysis suites.

Previous Experience

I have been in the baking industry for over 40 years.

I started my career in a family artisan bakery. Following my apprenticeship, I lived in Switzerland for a year and then Sweden for 2 years, before starting with industrial bakeries in product development roles.

I have also worked in sales management roles for specialist ingredient companies working with industrial bakers, wholesalers and supermarkets in the UK; as well as countries in South East Asia, the Middle East, Africa and the American continent.

Lastly, having run my own business, this gives me an understanding of the difficulties and pitfalls faced by bakery start-ups.
