Cardiff Metropolitan University's Pro Vice-Chancellor (International), Professor Mohamed Loutfi, attended and presented at the 'Connecting Universities' workshop in Luxor, Egypt, which was organised by the British Council in collaboration with the Al-Fanar Media Incorporated.
The workshop brought together a number of leaders in Higher Education in order to exchange information and discuss ways to strengthen ties in the field on national and international levels. The workshop also focused on the importance of exchanges and mobilities not only among university students but also among faculty members. Graduate employability was also discussed in terms of enriching the curriculum by adding labour market requirements to support graduates in finding suitable jobs.
High-level delegation at the event included Professor Ashraf Hatem, the Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Universities, and a number of heads and deputy heads from Alexandria universities. The Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Universities commented on the workshop: 'The workshop highlighted the importance of the relationship between the students, professors, and university administration, despite the diversity of cultures and disciplines'.
