Staff Overview

​Before joining Cardiff Metropolitan University in August 2022, Dr Zheyi Zhu held research fellow position at the Cardiff University, where he obtained his PhD in Economics and MSc in Financial economics.

Zheyi has over ten years of knowledge and experience in teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. His main research interest includes open economy macroeconomics and policy, macro-econometrics, implementation of simulation-based method estimation.

His recent papers have been published in Journal of Financial stability, Heliyon, Journal of cleaner production, International Journal of Finance and Economics, and Open Economies Review.

As an honorary research fellow at Julian Hodge Institute of Applied Macroeconomics in Cardiff Business school, Zheyi also contributes forecasts on major economic indicators of the UK and other leading economies. These forecasts are published in Liverpool investment letter (ISSN 0951-9262) and Quarterly Economic Bulletin (ISSN 0952-0724).​
