January Entry Tuition Fees and Payment Schedule
If you're starting an undergraduate degree at Cardiff Metropolitan University in January 2027, your first year will follow an accelerated study schedule. This means your tuition fee payment dates will be different for Years 1 and 2.
How your academic years work
Your degree will follow this structure:
- Year 1 (January to September 2027): You'll study throughout the summer to complete your first year.
- Year 2 (September 2027 onwards): You'll begin your second year in September, following the standard academic calendar.
- Year 3: You'll continue following the standard September academic calendar until you complete your degree.
Important: Two tuition fee payments in September 2027
Plan ahead for two payments in September
You'll need to make two separate tuition fee payments in September 2027:
- 8 September 2027: Your final Year 1 payment (10% of your Year 1 tuition fees).
- 23 September 2027: Your first Year 2 payment (25% of your Year 2 tuition fees).
These payments are just 15 days apart and cover two different academic years.
Please plan ahead to ensure you have sufficient funds available for both payments.
Year 1: January 2027 entry
Your first-year tuition fees will be paid according to the following schedule:

When you begin Year 2 in September 2027, you'll move to the standard September tuition fee payment schedule.
Your anticipated payment dates are:

Please note: Year 1 and Year 2 tuition fees are charged separately. The payment percentages shown above apply to the tuition fees for each individual academic year.
