Monday 28th March 2022

Global Village

Venue: The outside huts, Llandaff Campus

Time: 11.00am – 2.00pm

The oustide area will be transformed into a Global Village to showcase and celebrate the different cultures of the students studying at Cardiff Met. Join us for an opportunity to explore the stalls from around the world and learn about unique cultures, try delicious food samples and take part in traditional activities.


FIFA tournament with Res Life

Venue: Print studio, Cyncoed campus

Time: 6.00pm 

Join Res Life for a FIFA Playstation tournament, the winner gets to choose any football shirt in the world (up to a maximum value of £50)! Contact metreslife@cardiffmet.ac.uk by Sunday 27th March to sign up! 


Cardiff Met's got talent!

Venue: International Central 

Time: All week

Global Week kicks off with the launch of our annual Cardiff Met's got talent competition. Check out this year's amazing talent entries on International Central and vote for your favourite! The winner will receive a prize. 


African day

Venue: Atrium (Cardiff School of Management, Llandaff campus) and K1 (Cyncoed campus)

Time: 12.00am - 2.00pm

In celebration of Global Week and St David's day, university run catering facilities will be holding African themed lunch options including African chicken stew, Jollof Rice, Plantain & Cassava Fufu and much more - enjoy!


Tuesday 29th March 2022

Community Day

Venue: The outside huts, Llandaff Campus

Time: 11.00am – 3.00pm

Come along to visit a range of stalls of local traders who will be providing delicious food and other produce. The university will also have stalls available providing information about societies, mental health & wellbeing, interfaith group and more. 


Yoga with Res Life

Venue: Dance studio, Cyncoed campus

Time: 6:00pm

Originating from India, Yoga is an ancient form of exercise that focuses on strength, flexibility and breathing to boost physical and mental wellbeing. Join the Res Life for an invigorating Yoga session at the Dance Studio, Cyncoed campus. Please email Metreslife@Cardiffmet.ac.uk to book a place.

Yoga with Res Life

Venue: Social room, Plas Gwyn halls of residence

Time: 6:15pm

International Fashion show

Venue: International Central

Time: All day

Check out international central today to view and learn about the national dresses from around the world. Thank you to all of our lovely students who have taken the time to submit photographs and information to teach others about the cultural meanings of their beautiful and colourful outfits.

Thursday 31st March 2022

Staff Training - Forced migrants/sanctuary seekers in the UK

Venue: Online event - Microsoft Teams

Time: 10.00am - 11.00am

This session will be run by Displaced People in Action and will provide information on the different immigration statuses of forced migrants, the benefits that they are/are not entitled to here in the UK, case studies and useful information. This session is designed for staff only. Please email intstudentadvice@cardiffmet.ac.uk if you would like further information or to join the event. 


African Drumming Workshop

Visa options after your studies

Topics include current landscape for international students wanting to work in the UK and UK immigration advice.
