Rooms are released in stages across the different booking sessions. This gives students in each session fair access to the available accommodation.
Popular rooms can be selected very quickly. A room may also be temporarily unavailable while another student completes their booking. If the contract for the booking is not downloaded and accepted within 15 minutes, the room may become available again.
The portal can support a limited number of students at one time. Separate sessions help us manage demand and give students fair access to the rooms available.
A proportion of rooms is released for each session. Students invited to a later session are not simply left with whatever remains after the first session.
In some cases, where rooms are not fully booked from a previous session, these rooms will be available during a later session.
No. The accommodation guarantee means that eligible students, who meet the terms of the Accommodation Guarantee will be offered suitable accommodation.
It does not guarantee a particular building, location, room type or room preference.
The accommodation offered may be in Cardiff Met campus halls or with one of our approved accommodation partners.
The accommodation application records your preferences and eligibility. It does not reserve a room.
Room selection gives eligible students more choice. It allows you to view information about the accommodation currently available before deciding where you would like to live. This is also usually quicker than waiting for the Accommodation Team to allocate and send individual offers.
Some students, including those who require a particular room or specific adjustment, are considered separately. They may receive a room offer through our manual allocation process.
Your room selection-invitation gives you an opportunity to select from the accommodation available during your session. A particular room, room types or location cannot be guaranteed.
It is important that you log in during your allocated session. If you cannot take part, or experience a technical problem, please contact the Accommodation Team.
Partner halls are managed by established student accommodation providers and offer purpose-built student rooms.
All partner hall locations are accessible by public transport to either campus.
All our partner halls offer Cardiff Met exclusive flats, so you can be sure you’ll be living with other Cardiff Met students.

Please do not worry. Please contact the Accommodation Team to explain your circumstances and ask for a new session. We will aim to fit you in to a later session to complete your booking.
Check your emails regularly, including their junk or spam folder. Room-selection invitations include the date and time of your session.
If you have access to the internet, you should be able to log in using a phone or tablet to access the Accommodation portal. It takes an average of 10 to 15 minutes to complete the process fully.
If you cannot take part or have missed it, please contact the Accommodation Team to request another session.
Only applicants who are currently eligible to book will receive an invitation.
If you have a conditional course offer, you may not become eligible until your place at Cardiff Met is confirmed following your results. Invitations will then be sent to eligible applicants in line with the Accommodation guarantee and our allocation priorities.

In order to enhance the security of your account, you'll need to register for Multi Factor authentication (MFA). Most students have completed their booking successfully. Students experiencing a problem should take a screenshot and contact us so that we can investigate their individual booking.
Any technical issues will be investigated fully with our provider.
Alcohol-free and low-stimulation rooms should only be shown to students who selected the relevant preference in their accommodation application.
If your booking shows a community profile that you did not requests, please contact the Accommodation Team. We will check your application and booking and, depending on availability, we may be able to offer an alternative.
Do not try to pay again or begin another booking.

We receive a high number of calls during peak periods. If our telephone lines are busy, please email us including your student number and details of the problem.

Yes. Accommodation remains available for students receiving offers after 21 August 2026. The accommodation portal is updated daily and will display all available options, including trusted partner accommodation where applicable.
The Accommodation Team is contacting newly confirmed students every day and is reissuing booking timeslots to students who missed their original session. Please check your junk folder and confirm your email address is correct. If you still haven't received any communication, we can pass your details to the Accommodation Team for follow-up.
There is currently good availability in North Court, The Bakery, and Cambrian Point. Each offers self-catered accommodation, with en-suite rooms available.
If you are holding an unconditional firm offer to study at Cardiff Met, you should receive an email from the Accommodation Team explaining how to book your accommodation.
Please check your junk or spam folder, as you may have missed an email containing your room-selection time slot. Don’t worry if your time slot has already passed, we can arrange another one for you. Email accomm@cardiffmet.ac.uk with your student number and we will send you a new time slot.
Accommodation at Cyncoed and Plas Gwyn is in high demand, and available rooms can be selected very quickly. If no campus rooms are showing, they may have already been booked or may temporarily be in another student’s basket.
Select Partner Halls on the accommodation portal to view the rooms currently available at Cambrian Point, The Bakery and North Court. These residences offer modern en-suite accommodation with convenient access to Cardiff Met campuses.
Yes. You can still apply for accommodation and we will offer you the opportunity to book from the rooms available. However, we cannot guarantee a particular residence or room type.
The preferences submitted with your application helped us understand what type of accommodation you would ideally like, but they did not reserve a room. All accommodation is subject to availability, and some locations and room types are in particularly high demand. The accommodation portal will show the rooms available when you log in.
Partner Halls are managed by established specialist student-accommodation providers. Cardiff Met works closely with these providers, and students living in partner halls remain part of the Cardiff Met student community.
Yes. Flats reserved through Cardiff Met in our partner halls are exclusively for Cardiff Met students, so you will only share your flat with other students from the University.
Your details will be referred securely to the accommodation provider. The provider will normally contact you within two working days with further information and instructions for completing your booking.
We cannot guarantee that a campus room will become available and we don’t have a separate waitlist. You should book from the accommodation currently available rather than delay securing a room.
If rooms are released because another student cancels or does not complete their booking, the Accommodation Team will determine how they are reallocated.
