The Student Accommodation Code
At Cardiff Metropolitan University, we are committed to providing a safe, welcoming and supportive place for students to live.
Our University-managed residences and nominated accommodation partners work in line with the Universities UK/GuildHE Student Accommodation Code (“The Accommodation Code”), which sets standards for the management of student accommodation and helps ensure students receive clear information, fair treatment and a good standard of service.
The Code covers areas including:
- Clear and accurate information about accommodation, costs and contracts
- A safe, secure and well-maintained living environment
- Fair and transparent management practices
- Respect for students’ wellbeing, privacy and welfare
- Clear procedures for reporting concerns, repairs and complaints
We also work closely with our nominated accommodation partners to ensure students referred to approved private accommodation are supported within recognised quality standards.
