Sustainability is embedded across all areas of the University, from teaching and research to operations and campus life, and its success depends on the active participation of our entire community of staff and students.

Our Mission

Our sustainability engagement work brings people together through campaigns, events, and collaborative initiatives that create opportunities to share knowledge, discuss challenges openly, and celebrate progress. We recognise that meaningful change is the most effective when it is achieved collectively, rather than in isolation. Working in partnership across the University, we deliver a programme of activities each year to raise awareness, strengthen understanding of our sustainability, and inspire action.

Green Week 2025

Each year, Cardiff Met celebrates Go Green Week by organising sustainability activities on campus. Our aim is to raise awareness about the importance of sustainability, and to promote positive change amongst students and staff. Go Green Week 2026 included our annual Go Green Week Fair, an impactful talk from Eagle Reintroduction Wales, eco-craft sessions, and we collaborated with SU societies to run events such as the litter pick and Green Week run.
