Llio Davies

Course Studied: BA (Hons) Artist Designer : Maker

Allowance Choice: £500 Campus Cash

How has the award made a difference?

I have been able to use the campus cash for lunches every day, I know I will be able to have free hot or cold meals on campus which has saved me a lot of money. It's been really helpful with printing credit as well, as that can mount up. Next term, when I have my accommodation payment, I will save that money and attend trips with my course. We have already discussed a trip to France which I'm excited I can now attend.

Lorien Redwood-Knight

Allowance Choice: Catering

How has the award made a difference?

It has honestly relieved so much stress I had about financial issues! The allowance for food every week reduces my weekly food shop bills, plus it's a lot quicker and easier to grab a sandwich from K1 if I'm busy rather than going home to cook. The accommodation element pays over 4 months of rent, which is obviously a significant amount, it has been amazing to be able to relax a little about money.

Hannah Street

Course Studied: Foundation Certificate in Health Sciences

Allowance Choice:  Gym membership and £400 Campus Cash

How has the award made a difference?

I have been able to use the Campus Cash allowance to print out work for lectures and work to help me revise for my exams in January. The gym membership has been very helpful to stay healthy.

David Groom

How has the award made a difference?

The award has been very useful so far, as it has helped me financially, not having to worry about buying food and helping with the accommodation costs. I have been able to print out any lecture slides, notes and coursework without having to worry about how much it will cost.

Ellen Small

Course Studied: BSc (Hons) Sport Conditioning, Rehabilitation and Massage

Allowance Choice:  Gym membership and £400 Campus Cash

How has the award made a difference?

Financially it has been brilliant as money is going towards my accommodation and prior to this, my loan barely covered my accommodation.

 Joel Pinney

Course Studied: BSc (Hons) Computer Science

Allowance Choice:  £150 Amazon voucher and £350 Campus Cash

How has the award made a difference?

The award has been a huge help to me personally and financially to help towards my studies. I was awarded £350 campus cash which I use for food, I was also awarded a £150 Amazon voucher that I used for Academic equipment e.g. books. As I live at home and travel in to university, I was given help with transport that consisted of a train pass and Metrider bus pass instead of an accommodation payment. I feel the award has motivated me further.

 Isabelle Young

Course Studied: BA (Hons) Graphic Communication

Allowance Choice:  £500 Campus Cash

How has the award made a difference?

I was unable to use the scholarship for student accommodation as I live at home. However I was offered £1,500 towards my tuition fees instead. I also had £500 Campus Cash. As I study Graphic Design, I do lots of printing and the Campus Cash helped a lot towards printing and any materials on site.
