About the Partnership

Santander Universities is a unique and pioneering global programme that offers education, employability and entrepreneurship opportunities to university students and employees, and training and support for the growth and transformation of innovative start-ups and SMEs. From the outset, Santander have invested more than €2 billion and awarded over 630,000 scholarships and grants.

With a tailored package of financial and in-kind support, Santander has helped Cardiff Met students to boost their career prospects through paid internships or overseas travel; empowered them to make their business ideas a reality; and supported their learning with scholarships and bursaries.

Funding for Entrepreneurs

Through the partnership with Santander, the Centre for Entrepreneurship is able to provide invaluable financial support to students and graduates who are exploring social enterprise and business ideas. The EntAct SeedFund is a £500 grant which enables students or graduates to test ideas, protect essential IP and to take the first steps to starting their organisation. The CF5 StartFund provides more substantial financial support for those who are ready to make the transition into full-time trading. The CF5 StartFund is used for capital expenditure, further test trading and IP protection, as well as providing income to the graduate so they can concentrate on making their organisation sustainable. The Santander funding is an essential part of the comprehensive start-up support provided by the Centre for Entrepreneurship and has supported over 50 new organisations to start and grow.
