About the EMS

The Environmental Management System (EMS) provides a framework for identifying, controlling and reducing our environmental impact, and covers all University activities from energy and utilities, to waste management. It also includes embedding education for sustainable development in the curriculum and into research and enterprise activities.

ISO 14001

Since our first accreditation in 2012, Cardiff Met has maintained the ISO 14001 certification by setting clear objectives and targets with our aspect owners. Our EMS aligns with the ISO 14001 best practice guidelines and ensures we remain up-to-date with relevant environmental legislation with regular monitoring of progress through internal audits.
