Cardiff Met is committed to identifying, managing, and improving environmental aspects of estate operations by:
- Conducting climate risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and build resilience against climate change impacts on the built environment.
- Developing and reviewing the biodiversity action plan to conserve and enhance natural habitats, protected areas, and ecological value across the estate.
- Setting targets and strategies aligned with our commitments to reducing carbon emissions and improving resource efficiency.
- Prioritising sustainable design, construction practices, and reusing materials that minimise environmental impacts for new developments, refurbishments, and maintenance on the estate.
- Implementing energy efficiency measures such as investing in renewable energy sources and sustainable waste management practices.
- Undertaking external audits to ensure our sites retain a good appearance.
- Engaging with Cardiff Council on developments and ecological surveys.
- Continuing with our knotweed eradication plan using only environmentally friendly eco compounds liquids, allowing us to enhance the border areas of Llandaff campus.
