Mae Dr John Macaulay yn Ddarlithydd mewn Electroneg Pŵer yn Ysgol Dechnolegau Caerdydd. Mae ei ddiddordebau addysgu ac ymchwil yn canolbwyntio ar ddylunio, modelu, rheoli, a chymhwyso trawsnewidyddion electronig pŵer, gyda phwyslais arbennig ar systemau ynni adnewyddadwy a thechnolegau trosi ynni.

Mae ei ymchwil yn canolbwyntio ar ddatblygu a gweithredu electroneg pŵer uwch a thechnegau rheoli i wella effeithlonrwydd, dibynadwyedd a pherfformiad systemau cynhyrchu ynni adnewyddadwy. Mae ei ddiddordebau ymchwil hefyd yn cwmpasu cymhwyso deallusrwydd artiffisial (AI) a dysgu peiriannau i bweru electroneg, yn enwedig mewn rheolaeth ddeallus, optimeiddio systemau, modelu rhagfynegol, rheoli ynni, a chanfod a diagnosio namau.
